Wine Review - 2008 Laurier Cabernet Sauvignon - Alexander Valley

One word for this wine, WOW!  Picked this off of a wine list at an Italian restaurant in Santa Cruz this past weekend.  I am a big fan of Alexander Valley and this wine was really great.

From the moment the waiter poured the first taste to when we finished the bottle this wine never let us down.  Had we not been so thirsty from a long day I would have let it breath for 15-20 mins at least before pouring but even that was not necessary.

A little about the wine and the vineyard (Laurier Vineyard).  Laurier derives its name from the French word for the laurel tree that surround the founding winery in Sonoma County.  This particular cabernet contains clones personally selected from Alexander Valley's best vineyards.  With an abundant fruit character and silky texture this wine will not let you down.

We paid retail for it at the restaurant ($42) but I found it online for between $15-$18 a bottle.

Rest assured we will be purchasing and drinking more of this '08 cab along with others from this vineyard in the very near future.
