2008 Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel - Wine Review

The name describes this wonderful wine well, we had this tonight with a meat and potatoes dish, don't forget we are from Texas.

This vineyard is right up the road from where we live.  Oak Ridge Winery was founded in 1934 as a winemaking cooperative of local growers.  They are family owned and operated and this wine sure reflects that attention to detail.

This wine is a robust Zin from 50-100 year old vines.  It is jammy with raspberry, milk chocolate and mocha flavors, soft tannins and supple mouth feel.  We paired it with meat as I mentioned above but you it would go well with pasta or fish.

You can find it on their website or at your local wine seller for under $15.  Try it out, you will not be disappointed.
